Today you will have a guided tour to the Mayan City of Chichén Itzá.
The highlight of this site is the ‘Kukulkan Pyramid.’ Also known as ‘El Castillo’ (the castle), the Kukulkan Pyramid is one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Chichén Itzá is a massive ancient ceremonial center. It was founded on a strategic and convenient location, as it lies between other major Mayan sites. Today, after you enjoy your breakfast, you will embark on a full tour to discover this impressive site.
Chichén Itzá has been constructed of palaces and public squares adorned with vast salons, or galleries, and pillars. The “Ball Court” here is the largest ball field throughout Mesoamerica. There are a total of 12 “ball courts” in Chichén Itzá, which is the largest number for any Mayan city. Our professional guide will take you on an unforgettable journey. At the end of your tour, your driver will take you to the city of Merida.
Upon your arrival to Merida, you will have a bit of free time to rest and explore on your own. Merida is known for its magnificent buildings and architectural diversity. It’s also recognized as the “Paris of Mexico”. Buildings from the colonial period light up the evening with romance and charm.

Day 3Merida - Adventure to the Seven Cenotes!

Cenotes, Mexico
Cenotes, Mexico

A cenote is a natural underground reservoir of water very common in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. The word cenote comes from a Mayan word which means “cavern with water,” fitting for such vast sinkholes in natural beds of limestone.
During this full-day guided tour, you will discover the natural wonders of the Mayan underworld while learning about the richness of this ancient culture and enjoying new experiences.
Swim and relax in the cenotes, learn why the cenotes were considered sacred places for the Mayans, and enjoy the authentic Yucatecan flavor with a three-course meal prepared by local cooks. Discover the natural wonders of the mystical Mayan world while learning about the ancient Mayan culture. This is a very rustic reservoir; however, it is naturally designed to deliver an incredible adventure.

Day 4 Merida - Valladolid - Tulum

Valladolid, Mexico
Valladolid, Mexico

Today you will visit the town of Valladolid ,far enough off the beaten path to preserve the authentic and local feel. Valladolid is a very small and colorful colonial city. During this tour you will visit:
The Venados house: This is not just a private home but also a national cultural site. This residence houses the largest museum-quality collection of Mexican folk art in private hands.
Francisco Canton Rosado, the central square that is surrounded by historical colonial buildings.
The beautiful stone building of San Bernardino Ex-Convent, and the street of Los Frailes which both sides are lined with gorgeous colonial houses.

Day 5Tulum

Tulum site, Mexico
Tulum site, Mexico

Today you will have a free day to enjoy the beautiful beaches with clear turquoise water which invite you to relax and soak up the sunshine on the beach. The peacefulness and remoteness of the beaches makes Tulum a great paradise.
Suggested activity: Explore the Mayan site of Tulum. What makes this site special is the location directly by the shore. No other Mayan ruin sites have such a location. All of the ancient structures are beyond impressive when combined with their history and bewildering myths

Day 6Tulum - Cancun - Mujeres Island

Today your driver will take you to Cancun for your ferry to Isla Mujeres, which means Island of Women. It was given this name after several female figurines were found there in the 16th century. The island is very small, as it covers only five miles of land. It has beautiful white sand beaches and gorgeous tropical views.

Day 7Mujeres Island

Today will be a free relaxing day. Swim in the blue waters, snorkel in the barrier reef, get a massage on the beach, or relax in a hammock. You may be able to take part in the magical experience of releasing baby turtles into the ocean. The turtle hatching season in Mujeres Island takes place from August to October. If you are here on the right day, you can even help release turtles with a guide.
You could visit the south of the island where you will find a massive reef formation. Here you can go snorkeling, kayaking or ziplining. In the southwest region, the island has an underwater museum with hundreds of man-made statues. This beautiful art gallery and unusual attraction features two galleries; the first one is deep enough for both divers and snorkelers, and the second one is only for snorkelers. Also located in the southern side of the island you will find a lookout point which has a Mayan temple, complete with great views of the ocean and waves crashing into the cliffside. Mujeres Island is a wonderful place to finish this trip.
